Seattle-based, nationally touring independent musician jean mann is a noted singer-songwriter, guitarist, multi-media artist/craftswoman, and chef. A renaissance woman in a modern day world, jean's self-taught, "alternafolk" has been compared to Ani Di Franco, Joni Mitchell, and Norah Jones. However, with the release of her sophomore album, Seasons, she is emerging as a voice all her own. Her songs wind around life and love, speaking volumes in simple prose. Seasons
The project: From August 2001-April 2003, jean worked with Brendan Hill to create this album. A snippet of history in a body of work, Seasons encompasses as much about life, as events unfolding over the time of the recording project. The music swells with textures of cello, mandolin, vocal self-harmonies and other �voices� created by jean with homespun instruments - tinkly bells, basket with tiny cowbells, pre-snipped guitar strings.

Blossom, self-released as the duo, Blue Flower Friday, reflects a blossoming time, looking at life and all its passions and pains of the day, never fearing to go deep into the waters of truth. Swirling, haunting violin accompanied jean's us of multiple self-harmonies and acoustic guitar.
